Hey! My name is Cyanne Jones and I am a current junior at The Polytechnic School in Pasadena. To offer a bit of background information about myself as a global citizen, I am fluent in Spanish and English, and I am semi-proficient in Chinese. Spanish is my first language, I then learned English, and I have taken Mandarin for four years. I have traveled abroad many times with school, sports teams, and even just with my mother and friends. I have hosted exchange students two times, and I have been a foreign exchange student in Australia before. At school, I am a part of the Black Student Union. Outside of school, I am on a competitive-travel volleyball team and a travel soccer team. I also have my own non-profit organization called, “Kick Your Kicks,” in which every year I ask my friends and family to donate new and used pairs of shoes, and with those I donate to people in need in partnership with Harambe Ministries. I have been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten and I am currently working towards my Gold Award. Lastly, I am also in National Charity League and have served over 300 hours. I am so excited to see what other global affairs I can get into with this Global Scholars Program!
